Blessed — A New Year of Hope and Healing

As 2025 turned to 2026, I found myself in a season of deep reflection—not just about the year behind, but about the work still ahead.

Since late November, I’ve been steadily working on my manuscript after receiving it back from line editing. Every holiday passed with me at my desk, fine-tuning the pages, preparing it for the next stage: copy editing. While others were celebrating and resting, I was still in motion—tired at times, but fueled by purpose.

Yet even in the busy flow of writing, I couldn’t ignore the deeper call of the season. Christmas reminded me, as it always does, that while we gather to celebrate light and love, not every heart feels whole during the holidays. Some seats were empty. Some miles felt longer than they should. And some relationships remained fragile, or frayed.

This year, I chose to reach out to a few people I hadn’t spoken with in some time. I tried to offer peace where there had been silence. I stepped toward healing, even if just a little. Not everything was resolved—but every effort mattered.

Someone recently asked me, “How are you doing?”

Without hesitation, I answered: “Blessed.”

Not because every part of life is easy. It isn’t. But because, when I pause and truly look, I see the fingerprints of God everywhere—through trials, through grace, through unexpected kindness. I’m blessed to live in a country where I can share my voice. Blessed by friends who lift me. Blessed by the opportunity to serve and love another day.

The world is still hurting. Some hearts are still heavy. But I believe this: hope lives on. It echoes long after the Christmas lights fade. It walks with us into every January morning.

So I begin this new year not with resolutions, but with reminders—of the power of love, the courage to forgive, and the blessing of each new day to start again.
As the old hymn echoes, and as Scripture reminds us:

That is hope. That is grace.
We are blessed.
